Q: When and where will IJCAI-2007 take place?
A: 6 to 12 Jan 2007 at Hyderabad India as per the following programme schedule:

Q: What are the conference deadlines?
A:  Early Bird Registration 3 Nov 2006
  Late Registration Up to 31 Dec 2006
  Spot Registration 1 Jan 2007 onwards

REGISTRATION

Q: How do I register?
A: IJCAI-2007 is offering a means for on-line registration also, apart for sending remittance by Bank Transfers and Demand Draft (for INR only). We have also made provisions for downloadable Registration Forms which can be mailed, faxed or emailed to us.

Q: Can I make payment online thro Credit Card etc?
A: Yes! Click here for Payment modes

Q: How much is the registration fee?
A: The details are on the Registration Form. Click for Fee Details.

Q: Is there a student rate?
A: Bonafide students as on 1 Aug 2006 will get a 50%discount on their registration fee. Registration as a student is possible only with a certificate from the concerned HOD/Principal. (Originals to be produced at the time of Registration at Venues)

Q: Is there a discounted rate for delegates from Indian Institutions?
A: No! However there is a special Asian/Developing Countries Fund, which will subsidize Registration fee for deserving participants from 50 to 75%.

Q: I'm a presenter, do I need to register and pay?
A: Yes, all presenters are required to register and pay the appropriate registration fee.

Q: What do I get for my Conference Registration Fee?
A: All Participants will get the following:

  • Participation at the Inaugural and all Technical Sessions
  • Opening reception and Welcome Dinner following the Inauguration on 8 Jan 2007
  • Refreshments and lunches at the Conference on all days
  • CD containing the proceedings of the Conference
  • Programme and Conference Kit
  • Free admission to GITEX-2007 Exhibition/Events at HITEX from 09 to 11 Jan, 2007

Common shared transportation from central location to venue on all days is being arranged.

PROGRAMME

Q: Will the Proceedings of the conference be published?
A: Yes! The Published Proceeding can be purchased by placing order in advance by 1 Dec 2007 at a cost of US$75/-(INR 3000).

Q: When do you expect the Programme to be ready?
A: The final Programme for Tutorials, Workshops and Conference is available online.

Q: I have to attend one Tutorial at IIIT Hyderabad and other Workshop at Infosys Complex; will I get any transport?
A: Though it is 15 Minutes walking distance between IIITH and Infosys, volunteers will arrange for transport at regular interval for participants to shuttle between both venues, particularly during Lunch/Tea Breaks.

TRAVEL, HOTEL, HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION ETC.

Q: How do I reserve my hotel room?
A: IJCAI-07 has made special arrangements with leading Hotels in Hyderabad for your Convenience. Click here for HOTEL details and rentals. Hotels booking is being done by KW Conferences for IJCAI-07.

Make sure that you book your rooms early; as January is peak tourists season in Hyderabad, India.

Q: Are there any alternative hostel accommodation possibilities?
A: Absolutely! Hostel Accommodation is also arranged for you at reasonable cost (US$3 to US$ 75) for you to avail. Hostel Rooms will be allotted by LAC-07 Secretariat against firm booking for full duration. Click HOSTELS for full details and rentals.

Q: What transportation options are available?
A: Delegates arriving by air at the Hyderabad Airport will be received and
transferred to their place of accommodation by the IJCAI-07 conference organization. This will be at delegates costs, to be paid to Prepaid Taxi/Driver direct. IJCAI-07 Volunteers will assist you and will be available at Airport Help Desk from 5 Jan 2007 onwards to 9 Jan 2007. Look for a IJCAI-07 Board/Poster for help on arrival. IJCAI-07 Local Arrangement Committee will provide additional transportation on all days from central locations to the Venue sites. More details on this will be posted at a later date.

Q: I am traveling from outside India and I need a letter of invitation for visa purposes. Can you help?
A: Sure! Upon request, the IJCAI-07 Secretariat will send an invitation letter for visa purposes. However, Participants on Tourist Visa are permitted to attend Conference, Tutorials and Workshops

Q: Where do I get Indian visa related information?
A: The list of Indian diplomatic missions abroad can be found at www.embassyworld.com/embassy/india.htm . Visa forms may be downloaded from www.india-visa.com

MISCELLANY

Q: Will the conference have an exhibition?
A: YES. IJCAI-07 Exhibition is being held at HICC from 9 to 12 Jan 2007 for the benefit of the participants.

Q: Are there sponsorship options available for IJCAI-07?

Q: Are there other activities planned apart from the technical sessions?
A: The organizers are having a Conference Banquet and a cultural programme on
10 Jan 2007 for the participants, who have paid in advance (US$50).

Q: What is PCO and what is there role for IJCAI
A: PCO is Professional Conference Organizer and KW Conferences has been appointed to assist IJCAI-07 Local Arrangement Committee (LAC07) for smooth Conduct Conference at Hyderabad from 9 to 12 Jan 2007. KW Conference with their Hyderabad office (Arjun Narne) is primarily responsible for Registrations, including Reception, Accommodation and Transportation apart from conduct at HICC. Tutorials and Workshops are directly handled by LAC-07.

Q. I heard about Dengue fever/Chikungunya! Can you please clarify is there any risk involved with these?
A. No! not at all. These types of viral fevers are caused by mosquito bites primarily with stagnant water in rural areas. HICC, Infosys and IIITH complexes are very hygienic and involve no risk at all. However, we are making sure that medical assistance is available to IJCAI-07 participants throughout the conference.
